Editorial Standards

How Good Garden develops trustworthy, useful and independent garden content.

Draft — 3 September 2026.

Our purpose

Good Garden exists to help people make thoughtful, practical decisions in the garden. We aim for calm, useful guidance with enough context to understand not only what to do, but why.

Evidence and experience

We use reliable horticultural sources, current manufacturer information and relevant practical experience. We distinguish established guidance from judgement, preference and experimentation. We do not claim first-hand testing when a product or method has not been tested by us.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are based on relevance and usefulness. Commercial relationships do not buy favourable coverage. Sponsored, supplied, affiliate or otherwise compensated content must be clearly identified where it appears.

Products

Product descriptions should refer to the actual product shown and avoid unsupported performance claims. Materials, dimensions, origin, care, availability and price are checked against the most reliable current information available. Where a detail is unconfirmed, we say so or leave it out.

AI-assisted work

Digital and AI tools may support research organisation, drafting, translation or image preparation. Material should be reviewed before publication for accuracy, clarity, originality and fit with Good Garden’s standards. AI assistance is never presented as physical product testing or personal experience.

Images

Editorial images should be licensed, commissioned or created for Good Garden. Product imagery must preserve the identity and essential features of the actual product. Optimisation for the web may improve crop, background, colour balance and file size without creating a misleading representation.

Corrections and updates

We correct material errors and update pages when circumstances change. Significant corrections should be made transparently where context requires it. Readers can report concerns to info@goodgarden.com.

Respect and accessibility

We write in clear language, avoid unnecessary exclusion and aim to make content usable across devices and abilities. Safety limitations and regional differences are stated when they materially affect the advice.
